Ingredient Information
We encourage customers to research each ingredient independently. Below is a brief summary of each ingredient in your custom pre-workout, including its category, purpose, recommended max dose, and any relevant notes.
L-Citrulline
Category: Pump, Endurance
Purpose: Improves blood flow and reduces fatigue during workouts.
Max Suggested Dose: 10,000mg
Note: L-Citrulline is the most common and heavily dosed ingredient in nearly all serious pre-workouts — often making up the largest portion of the formula. It forms the foundation for improved blood flow, muscle pumps, and endurance. We use pure L-Citrulline (not Citrulline Malate) to give you full, accurate dosing. Since malic acid is included separately, you still get the benefits of both compounds with better control over taste and effectiveness.
Creatine Monohydrate (micronized)
Category: Strength, Power, Muscle Growth
Purpose: Increases ATP production for strength and performance.
Max Suggested Dose: 5,000mg
Note: Creatine is not a fast-acting pre-workout ingredient. Its benefits come from consistent daily use, not immediate effects. It's often included in pre-workouts for convenience, helping users meet their daily dose without needing a separate supplement for the day.
Beta-Alanine
Category: Endurance, Strength
Purpose: Buffers lactic acid to delay muscle fatigue.
Max Suggested Dose: 6,000mg
Note: Beta-alanine is the ingredient responsible for the tingling or “itching” sensation many people feel in pre-workouts. This effect is completely harmless, but opinions are divided — some love it, others hate it. If you enjoy the tingle, choose a higher dose; if not, consider a low dose or leave it out entirely.
Betaine Anhydrous
Category: Power, Strength, Pump
Purpose: Supports strength, power output, and muscle hydration.
Max Suggested Dose: 6,000mg
Note: Betaine Anhydrous supports power output, cellular hydration, and strength — especially when used consistently. It works synergistically with creatine and other hydration ingredients. Some users may experience mild digestive discomfort at higher doses.
Malic Acid
Category: Energy, Absorption
Purpose: Supports energy production and reduces exercise fatigue.
Max Suggested Dose: 3,000mg
Note: While malic acid can support energy production, it has a very strong tart taste. Doses above 3g may make the pre-workout overly sour or hard to drink, which is why 3g is generally the practical upper limit.
L-Glycine
Category: Mood, Recovery, Sleep Support
Purpose: Promotes calmness, focus, and recovery.
Max Suggested Dose: 5,000mg
Note: L-Glycine is typically used in low-stim or nighttime pre-workouts. When included in morning formulas, it may contribute to drowsiness or a “crash” later in the day for some users.
Glycerol Powder (65%)
Category: Pump, Hydration, Endurance
Purpose: Improves muscle hydration and enhances pump.
Max Suggested Dose: 5,000mg
Note: It must be taken with plenty of water to be effective. We use a 65% glycerol powder, which is the highest stable concentration available in powdered form.
Caffeine
Category: Energy, Focus, Endurance
Purpose: Boosts energy, alertness, and workout intensity.
Max Suggested Dose: 300mg
Note: While 400mg is available for advanced users, daily high doses may lead to increased tolerance, reduced sleep quality, and long-term fatigue. 300mg is recommended for sustained energy without overreliance.
L-Tyrosine
Category: Focus, Mood, Stress Support
Purpose: Supports mental clarity and stress resistance.
Max Suggested Dose: 2,000mg
Taurine
Category: Hydration, Focus, Endurance
Purpose: Helps with muscle function, hydration, and focus.
Max Suggested Dose: 3,000mg
L-Choline Bitartrate
Category: Focus, Cognitive Support
Purpose: Supports brain function and mind-muscle connection.
Max Suggested Dose: 2,000mg
Ashwagandha
Category: Mood, Stress, Recovery
Purpose: Reduces stress and supports hormone balance.
Max Suggested Dose: 600mg
Note: Ashwagandha is not a fast-acting ingredient; it supports stress management and recovery when taken consistently over time, similar to creatine. It’s often included in pre-workouts for convenience. However, it has a strong, earthy taste that may affect flavor in higher doses.
L-Theanine
Category: Focus, Calm, Mood
Purpose: Promotes calm focus and reduces caffeine jitters.
Max Suggested Dose: 400mg
Note: Often paired with caffeine to smooth energy and enhance focus without increasing stimulation.
Piperine (Black Pepper Extract)
Category: Absorption, Bioavailability
Purpose: Improves absorption of other ingredients.
Max Suggested Dose: 10mg
Pink Himalayan Salt
Category: Hydration, Electrolytes
Purpose: Replenishes sodium lost through sweat.
Max Suggested Dose: 1,000mg
Note: High doses may impact flavour.
Flavourings
Category: Taste, Experience
Purpose: Improves the taste and mixability of the pre-workout.
Max Suggested Dose: We use an algorithm based on what ingredients you choose to make a palatable pre-workout.
Note: All flavouring agents we use are naturally derived, for sweeteners we use sucralose, and for tartness/sharpness/sourness we use malic and citric acid. If you would like us to leave out or adjust any of these ingredients leave it in your preparation notes.
